One Year Ago Today

One year ago today was Valentine's Day. (Ok, yes, I realize that is a "oh...duh" moment).

One year ago today, we lived in the Middle East.

One year ago today, I was wearing the same sweatshirt I am wearing right now (I think)!

One year ago today, I was admitted to the hospital in Jordan.

One year ago today, we celebrated Valentine's Day over chopped steak and unseasoned vegetables, looking out the picture window of my hospital room at the beautiful lights of Abdoun Circle.

One year ago today, I felt scared but unsure of what the future held.

Today is Valentine's Day.

Today, we live in the United States.

Today, I am wearing a sweatshirt that seems eerily familiar.

Today, I am in the comfort of my snow-covered home.

Today, the future seems bright.

Today, I will celebrate Valentine's Day with the best valentine a girl could receive:  the baby boy that was born 10 days after a year ago today.
